On 23 June 2022, the Hon. Michael Kirby joined with former NSW Premier Bob Carr and leading medical expert, Dr Alex Wodak, at the Wesley Methodist Centre in Sydney. The topic was: “Is It Time to Legalise Drugs?”. The host of the occasion was ABC journalist, Stan Grant. Michael Kirby explained the importance for community good health and saving lives of serious discussion aimed at use of defined “drugs”. He explained difficulties presented by introduction of international treaty law.
