On 16 October 2024, at the University of Sydney Law School, Michael Kirby gave a talk at the invitation of the Julius Stone Institute. At the talk he explained the contribution of Stone to his legal education; his views about judicial “leeways for choice”; and his impact on generations of judges in appreciating the [limited] creative role of judges in the common law countries.
