On 3 March 2023, in conjunction with the WorldPride Conference held in Sydney to support LGBTIQ equality throughout the world, Michael Kirby participated in a panel, held by the Human Rights Conference, and chaired by Professor Paula Gerber of Monash University Law School in Melbourne. Michael Kirby spoke on the means of securing change to laws in many countries that discriminate against queer people and deny them full human dignity and equality.
