Attached is the Melbourne University Law Students’ Society Annual Lecture delivered by the Hon. Michael Kirby AC CMG. The lecture was delivered at Melbourne Law School on Wednesday 9 August 2023.
The introductions were given by Lara Halperin and Ray Cima. Also attending at the lecture was Mr Daniel Cash. He is the School Captain of Melbourne Grammar School. He was the author of an op-ed published in The Age newspaper and the Sydney Morning Herald, calling for a change in the attitudes of some hostile persons to LGBTIQ minorities. The lecture was delivered in the presence of Professor Matthew Harding, who introduced it. The lecture contains the speakers’ views on the good news and bad news in Australia and worldwide affecting LGBTIQ minorities.
