You are an inspiration. Without public figures like your good self speaking openly about their sexuallity, I would have grown up in a much more harsh of a world.

Although I am committed to the founding of the Republic of Australia I fully support a stronger, more relevant and more focussed Commonwealth of Nations with Australia playing a significant role in helping present a united Commonwealth point of view on such issues as combatting nuclear proliferation, the fightback against man-made climate change and measures to inhibit the propensity of global pandemics in such international bodies as the United Nations. Wish you all the best at the forthcoming CHOGM in Perth later this year.

Congratulations upon the publishing of your biography this week. This promises to be a terrific read about a brilliant judicial career, but also your selfless contribution to public life and debate.
It is a testament to your communicating to a wider audience that you have created this website. It will not be riding into a private, quiet 'retirement' for Citizen Kirby!!
It was Alfred,Lord Tennyson who extolled "To strive,to seek,to find, and not to yield". To better ourselves, to better our institutions, to better our laws, and most importantly our humanity.
You have dared to shed light upon the often Aladdin's cave of the law and legal system, and have sought to inspire, educate, cajole and perhaps inflame public debate. In the "Great Game of law", as you've described it, you have chosen to speak without fear or favour, and not sit idly on the sidelines. We cannot all reach the judicial heights of the High Court, but we can be inspired to participate`and contribute wherever and however we can, and seek the betterment of our fellow human beings.
For that we can be thankful to you, and anticipate the next chapter of an inspiring and intriguing life.
"And in the end,it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years" (Abraham Lincoln).
No doubt, many years to come, and a whole lot of life...
