Justice Kirby, I can only add to the comments that others have posted here. Since childhood I have hated ignorance and injustice in all its forms, and like most, I thought "somebody should do something about that"... Sir, you have inspired me to be 'somebody', so much so that 2 years ago at the age of 45 I was fortunate enough to be accepted to study Law at SCU and I cannot wait to graduate as a Bachelor of Laws. You have shown me and many others that ONE person CAN make a difference in this world. I have also just finished reading 'A Private Life', which just reinforced my admiration for what you have done to help humanity not just in Australia, but worldwide.

Thank you so much for the difference you have made to so many lives - and also for setting the standard that future legal practitioners should aspire to,or as I call it - 'The Kirby Precedent'. May you and Johan have many more happy years ahead, and may you also slow down enough 'to smell the roses'...

Dear Justice Kirby

As an openly gay law student, you are an inspiration to me. You motivate me to study and become something great in my life. I have been always pushed around for being gay, and alot of people have put me down telling me that the Law will not accept me as a homosexual, but you are my inspiration !

Many thanks for your participation in the Voiceless EyeLevel topic 'How much is cheap meat really costing us?'. I am hopeful that this will generate greater awareness of the severe health, environmental and moral ramifications of factory farming.
Best wishes. Jeremy Richman 22.5.13

Dear Michael, I have just watched the documentary 'Michael Kirby' on ABC1 and I can happily say 'I was suffering from insomnia otherwise I would have bloody missed it!'

What an amazing life and career you have, truly inspirational, clearly an enthusiastic campaigner and Advocate for Equality and basic Human Rights! If I may sir; In the words of your father spoken in the documentary; 'you have got to do what's right for your children!' You have done right for a great number of children and adults alike!

My partner Leon & I wish nothing but the best this life offers you and your beloved partner Johan.
